Caribou Clothing and Storytelling - English subtitles
In Caribou Storyteller Elders tell stories of people who lived on the land; showing us what the story is today, what it looks like now and who goes there now…with many questions around: are people still hunting caribou?
Is it still a caribou route? Is it still accessable to this day?
One interview is Jacky Qrunnut interviewing Samuelie Ammaq on caribou hunting, showing in detail the areas he has found caribou.
And an interview with elders Michelline Ammaq and Atuat Akittiq, a well known award winning seamstress.
Also in the video - Bailey Ammaq, grandson of Michelline and Samuillie Amaaq who is a young hunter following his grandfather's path as a hunter who provides for the community.
And Josepha Taqqaugaq, a seamstress in the community who works with different kinds of materials and animal fur to prepare and make clothing to keep her family warm in harsh environments.
