Uvagut TV Approved by CRTC as an Inuktut TV channel
On October 22, 2024, the CRTC (Canada Radio and Telecommunications Commission) confirmed that NITV’s application under Section 9(1)(h) of the Broadcasting Act has been approved. This decision means that Uvagut TV will be carried on basic cable packages from coast to coast across Canada to 10 million cable subscribers.

Uvagut TV is Canada's first national Inuktut television channel - broadcasting movies, documentaries, cultural programs, current affairs shows, interviews with elders, and 5 hours of daily kids shows. We are currently available in over 600,000 homes across Canada.
Subscribers to Shaw Direct satellite throughout Canada and Arctic Co-op Cable (Nunavut and NWT) can watch Uvagut TV on their basic cable packages - channel 240 or 267. FCNQ (Nunavik) subscribers can watch on channel 308.
